ESTONIAN RESEARCH CENTRE FOR ANIMAL WELFARE

 

The centre was established in 2008 in the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Estonian University of Life Sciences and brings together researchers, lecturers, students and specialists dealing with animal welfare issues. 

The mission of the centre is to improve animal welfare through research and education.

The evaluation system of animal welfare quality is based on four principles: Good housing, good feeding, good health and appropriate behaviour (on the farm, during transport and slaughter).
